Shift Engineer at Kasapreko Company Limited

The Shift Engineer for Kasapreko PLC’s Alcohol Rectification Unit (ARU) is responsible for overseeing the plant’s production operations during assigned shifts. The role involves ensuring full resource utilization, efficient operations, maintaining high-quality standards, and minimizing wastage while fostering a hazard-free work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and control the entire operation of the Rectification Unit through shift staff.
  • Coordinate between different unit sections to resolve operational issues.
  • Maintain optimal process parameters for regular and high-quality production.
  • Track raw material usage and control chemical consumption to reduce waste.
  • Ensure a clean, hazard-free work environment and report any issues to management.
  • Oversee staff and troubleshoot operational challenges.
  • Monitor product quality from raw materials through to finished goods.
  • Plan and manage routine and annual plant shutdowns.
  • Supervise maintenance activities and issue relevant safety permits.
  • Collaborate with Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, and Utilities departments to ensure repairs and maintenance are carried out efficiently.
  • Work closely with the QC Lab to regulate process parameters and ensure steady, high-quality production.

  • Ability to work independently and with diverse teams.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Willingness to work extra hours if required.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to understand and apply policies and operational procedures.
  • Commitment to safety practices at all operational levels.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
  • Strong proficiency in math and technical subjects preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a chemical manufacturing or industrial unit.
  • In-depth knowledge of process plant equipment (e.g., pumps, cooling towers, boilers, distillation columns).
  • Experience operating plant systems through DCS/PLC platforms.
