Junior Technical Advisor at Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ)
The MOVE project aims to build resilient cashew and rice value chains to create jobs and income in West Africa. The project is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), with co-funding from the EU and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. It operates in five countries: Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Sierra Leone, and Nigeria, with ECOWAS as the main political partner.
Job Summary
The Junior Technical Advisor will provide support in ICT advisory services and digital solutions for MOVE project activities. The role involves coordinating the use of ICT solutions, developing digital training materials, and collaborating with experts on digitalization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement ICT advisory services, including e-learning tools.
- Manage knowledge and assess the effectiveness of ICT solutions for the project.
- Identify new digital tools for project implementation.
- Create and manage digital training materials (e.g., 3D animations, e-learning platforms).
- Maintain the inventory of gadgets for ICT testing and piloting.
- Organize and support training workshops and monitor project progress.
- Coordinate with ICT experts and solution providers.
- Provide technical IT and logistical support for training programmes like the Master Training Programme (MTP).
- Collaborate with the MOVE ICT Advisor in Nigeria and the ICT and E-learning task force.
Qualifications and Experience:
- University degree in Computer Science, IT (Networking and Security), or a related field.
- Proficiency in English and basic knowledge of French.
- Experience in handling multiple IT tasks in both physical and virtual environments.
- Ability to work independently and manage responsibilities.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of ICT technologies and computer applications (MS Office, internet tools).
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a multicultural environment.
